William Arthur Niemann

William Arthur “Bill” Niemann, 86, of Nortonville, Kansas died March 18, 2025, at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, TX. 

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 29, 2025, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Nortonville, KS, with Pastor Rick Twenhafel officiating the service, burial will follow at Nortonville Cemetery in Nortonville, Kansas. Visitation with the family will be held 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, March 28, 2025, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Memorials are suggested to the St. Matthews Lutheran Church Endowment Fund. Bill was born on January 28, 1939, in Atchison, Kansas, the son of Elvin and Esther (Johnson) Niemann. He married Mary Ann Vehrs on July 25, 1964, and she survives of the home. He was in the US Army two years before they married. He farmed row crops around the Nortonville area, Missouri River bottom and along the Grand River at Sumner, MO.

He was a member of the St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Nortonville, KS, Kansas Soybean Association, Lions Clubs, Soil Conservation Board, CVS Atchison Coffee Club and the Kansas Young Farmers Association. He liked going to farm auctions and wintering in Texas. 

Bill was known by everyone for his willingness to give you the shirt off his back, his endearing friendship, for being fun, and for loving Jesus. 

He is survived by his wife, daughters, Lori (Don) Kiehl, and Piper Niemann, sons, John (Jennifer) Niemann, and Casey (Tammy) Niemann, ten grandchildren: April Kiehl Nicholson (Spencer), Mason Kiehl (Hannah), Nolan Kiehl (Ruthie), Ella Neeley, Peyton Niemann, Trace Niemann, Hillary Niemann, Alex Niemann, Taylor Niemann, Caroline Niemann, and four great-grandchildren: Gavin and Adalyn Nicholson, Wyatt Kiehl, Colton Kiehl, and siblings Arliss (Roy) Zimmerman, Emily (Melvin) Nolting, Eric (Lois)Niemann, Alice Noll, and sister-in-law, Ingrid Niemann.  

He is preceded by his parents and sister, Linda Niemann, and brother, Charles Niemann.
