Warren and Dorothy Selland to hold 70th anniversary

Warren and Dorothy Selland of Horton will be celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary on September 4, 2025.  Dorothy Higley and Warren Selland were married on September 4, 1955 at the First Christian Church in Atchison, Kansas.  The couple farmed near Everest until retiring and moving to Horton in 1999.  They have four daughters - Beth (Ben) Thurn, Kathy (Danny) White, Marcia (Mark) Knudson and Denise (Marshall) Claxton.  They have ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The will be celebrating with family and friends.

Polly Jones celebrates 75th class reunion

A remarkably resilient woman known by most as Polly (Jackson) Jones and by many, many others as Grandma Polly, she just recently attended the 75th anniversary of her high school graduation from Atchison High School as one of the few surviving members of the class of 1949.Polly’s lifelong resilient nature has allowed her to raise seven children as a single mom and those children eventually gave Polly twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
