James Leo Hosier

James Leo Hosier, 87, of Atchison, Kansas passed away August 7, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be held on the day of the service from 12:00PM-2:00PM. Burial will be held at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Legion Building Fund or Multiple Sclerosis Society. James was born on November 12, 1937, in Atchison, Kansas, the son of Leo and Irene (Martin) Hosier. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Emporia State University and served in the United States Army. He married the love of his life, Mary Ann Tuley on December 23, 1965, in Effingham, Kansas and she preceded him on November 23, 2023. He served on several boards of area companies and was the President of McCormick Distilling Company in Weston, MO. James served on the boards of U.S.D 409 Board of Education, Atchison YMCA, Atchison Area Chamber of Commerce, and holds membership in the American Legion and Elks Clubs. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, fishing, silver crafting and exercising.

James is survived by his son, Lance (Elizabeth) Hosier, daughter, Lynn (Eddie) Lust, four grandchildren Kailen (Mitchel) Kurtz, Piper (Blaze) Hollands, Dalton (Jami) Lust, Celeste Servaes, six great-grandchildren, sister, Kay Hudnall, and brother-in-law, Ron (Linda) Tuley.

He is preceded by his parents, wife, and brother-in-law Charles Tuley.
