Edith Marie Billings

Edith Marie Billings, 85, of Bremerton, WA passed away on April 21, 2025.

Edith was born in Atchison, KS, one of fifteen children of LaMarne Bryan Bowen McNett & Alvin Talbert Bowen, Sr., who preceded her in death.  Also preceding her in death was her son Joseph Billings, three sisters: Carolyn Bowen Muncie, Rosa Lee Bowen Stryker and Lucy Bowen Warner, and two brothers: Alvin Talbert Bowen Jr., and Gerald Lee Bowen.

She is survived by her son, Paul Billings (Sue) of Bremerton, WA; daughters: Marie Irvin (Gary) of St. Joe, MO, Dianna (Dan) Lovett of Springfield MO, Jeannette (Bill) Rogers of Poulsbo, WA, Catherine (Chris) Boynton of Lancaster, KS, and 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; four sisters, Frances McFeeters, Mayberry, AR; Mary Kopp, Alton, IL; Pam Weishaar, Leavenworth, KS; Valerie Bowen, Atchison, KS, and five brothers, Kenneth Bowen, Frank Bowen, Sr., Lyle Bowen, Harold “Buzz” Bowen; also all of Atchison, KS; and Michael Bowen, of Horton, KS.

Edith enjoyed spending time at the casinos and playing bingo. When she was younger, she sewed clothes for her family. Edith worked most of her life at various jobs. She worked at Yellow Cab in the 1980s and Jack in the Box as a shift leader in Marysville, CA for a number of years then moved to Washington, and eventually transferred to Jack in the Box on Wheaton Way in Bremerton, where she retired from. She also worked for many years in cafeterias for the Bremerton School District. 

A graveside service will be at held 1:00 p.m. Saturday May 10th in Atchison, Kansas at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery.
