There are close to eighty non-profits in Atchison County; what does a small town do with so many charitable groups? We have a great variety of different charitable organizations, but sometimes it feels like they are silos, which can prompt the problem of how one gets connected to volunteer, how community members keep up with what each organization they care about is doing, and how we as a community can ensure that our resources are being used wisely and shared generously.

Harvest has started in spots across the Meadowlark Extension District. It signifies both the conclusion of a growing season and the start of a very busy time for producers trying to get crops out of the field in a timely manner. Unfortunately, it can become a dangerous time as well.
