Juneteenth Celebration: Community and Philanthropy

Atchison has a rich and varied history, and an integral part of it is the history of our Black community. There are currently multiple initiatives to bring attention to the legacy of Atchison’s Black community, including the restoration of the Black Business District through the Atchison County Historical Society, and the Juneteenth Celebration Committee. Each of these initiatives has drawn attention from the Atchison Community and the generosity of our town is evident in their success.

Raven Hills planned district to showcase initial new homes during open house on May 17

Interested Atchisonians who have been watching the construction of the new Raven Hills Planned District can be among the first to see the initial homes nearing completion at the corner of First Street and Mound Street. An Open House will be held on Saturday, May 17, from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., with five model homes open for tours.
