Richard G. Wittmann

Richard G. Wittmann was born August 6, 1933. He was 91 years of age when he entered into Eternal Life on Friday, February 7, 2025.
 He was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He obtained his Ph.D from St. Louis University and taught Latin, ancient Greek, and World Literature at Benedictine College in Atchison. Among his many awards, he was selected as an Outstanding Educator of America in 1975 and Educator of the Year at Benedictine College in 1982. He was awarded a Fullbright Scholarship in 1990. Due to the outstanding support of his former students and especially the 1963 men’s soccer players of St. Benedict’s, the Dr. Richard Wittmann MVP Award was initiated in 2023. 
 He loved to learn foreign languages and was fluent in German, Spanish, and Maya Quiche.
 He will receive a Military Honors funeral on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. The address is: National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 2929 E. Pinnacle Peak Road, Phoenix, AZ.
