Atchison High School announced thier 2024 Homecoming Royalty with the candidates being Makenzie Weedon-Jacobs, JZ Kelley, Jadyn Boldridge, Jaden Carter, Molly Cook, Cole Dewitt, Addison Aversman, Eric Smith III, Lily Oertel, and Luke Genail.

Governor Laura Kelly and Kansas Transportation Secretary Calvin Reed recently announced a combined total of more than $40 million has been awarded for 40 bridge projects across the state.KDOT is awarding nearly $20.5 million through the Off-System Bridge program in the 2026 Fiscal Year to fund 21 projects across the state which includes Atchison County for the replacement of a bridge on Jewell Road nearly four miles north of Lancaster.
