LINDA DAWN MILLER

Linda Dawn Miller, 58 of Atchison, KS, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Mosaic Life Care, St. Joseph, MO. The funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Becker- Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, with Rev. Marty Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison, KS. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, August 9, 2024, at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com. Linda was born June 14, 1966, in Lamar, CO, the daughter of Bill and Roma (Orr) Jordan. She worked as a Lab Technician and was a Certified Nurses Aid for several years. She also worked many years as a Mill Operator at Bunge. Linda was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed shopping, riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, and raising and breeding Schnauzers. Linda especially loved her children and bossing her husband around. Linda married Tom Miller on May 20, 2000, at Trinity Lutheran Church, he survives in the home. She is also survived by her mother Roma Jordan, AR, a daughter Jessica and Kenny Tull, Jr., Atchison, KS, sons, Clarence and Megan Warman, Olathe, KS, Nathan Warman, Lee’s Summit, MO, Matthew Miller, Atchison, KS, two brothers, Rod Orr, Atchison, KS, Jay Barker, Leavenworth, KS, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her father, a brother John, and a sister, Erma Barker

Local communities receive KAC grants

Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland recently announced $1,295,450 has been awarded to 108 recipients in the latest round of Kansas Arts Commission (KAC) grant funding. The funds will support museums, arts education, music, dance, visual arts, professional and community theater, creative writing, murals, poetry and other creative projects.

POLICE REPORT

Sunday, July 28 Shortly before 9:00PM on Friday night police officers responded to the 800 block Atchison Street to investigate a stabbing that had just occurred. A 50 year old male was found at the scene suffering from a stab wound to the chest.
