The Atchison Junior A’s will begin their quest for the state baseball tournament on Monday.

The A’s will play Leavenworth in the opener of the Zone Tournament at 6 p.m. Monday, July 13 at Wathena. Doniphan County will play the winner of the McLouth/Topeka game at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, July 14. Doniphan County is the host team.

A win on Monday for Atchison will mean the A’s play again at 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15. A Monday loss means an elimination game at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The Zone Tournament is a double-elimination format.

The championship game will be either Thursday, July 16 or Friday, July 17, depending on team losses.
