The Atchison Junior A’s have a terrific opportunity in front of them, as two of the three teams in their zone tournament will advance to the American Legion A State Tournament.

The A’s are matched up with Marysville and Doniphan County, with Atchison and Marysville to play at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 11. The winner will face Doniphan County at 6 p.m. in Game 2.

The winner of Game 2 earns a trip to the state tournament in Great Bend. The loser of Game 2 will play the loser of Game 1. The Game 3 winner will also head to Great Bend for the state tournament.

The A’s are 10-8 on the season, but 0-5 against Doniphan County. Atchison did not play Marysville during the season – a rain out on July 2 canceled the teams’ scheduled doubleheader.

All games will be played in Marysville at Cleo Feldhausen Field. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students and kids ages 12 and younger are allowed free admittance.

There is room at the Cleo Feldhausen Field for lawn chairs.
