Maur Hill-Mount Academy volleyball went 2-0 on senior night Tuesday with a pair of sweeps over Horton and Oskaloosa.
The Ravens defeated the Chargers 25-8 and 25-6, and the Bears 25-20 and 25-8.
MHMA is now 10-3 in its first season under coach Sara Noll.
Noll said her team’s performance on Tuesday night was the best she has seen them this season.
“I thought tonight we played the best ball I have seen us play,” Noll said. “We stepped up defensively and were able to score a lot easier by being in the system more often.”
Noll gave praise to the job senior setter Malia DuLac did getting the ball to hitters on the night.
“Malia distributed the ball well and we saw a lot of players step up in the front row,” Noll said. “It was fun to get to celebrate our four seniors with two big league wins tonight.”
Noll said everyone on the Ravens is putting in the hard work necessary to have a successful season.
“It helps that we have experienced players in key positions, but all around we have players putting in the work to be the best they can be at their position,” Noll said. “We’re getting closer to the intensity level I think we need to be at, and we’re starting to see that in matches — that’s a big part of us winning games.”
The Ravens were also just awarded first place at the McLouth Invitational that took place earlier this month based on going 3-0 and on defensive points allowed.
