OTTAWA – The No. 7-ranked Raven Men’s Lacrosse team hit the road on Thursday night for their first road KCAC game of the year as they took on Ottawa University.
The Braves held off a fourth-quarter comeback by the Ravens to earn a 14-9 win over Benedictine.
After the first quarter, the game was tied at 5-5 before the Braves held the Ravens scoreless over the second and third quarters to build their lead. Heading into the fourth quarter, the Ravens trailed 10-5 and launched a comeback in the fourth quarter scoring four times only to have the Braves match them with four and hang on to the lead.
Brady Guck led the Ravens with three goals in the loss. Peter Girard, Kyle Tomc, Sean Molyneux, Remy Dujakovich, Jack Kandoth and Ryan Heinser added one goal each.
The Ravens won the faceoff battle, winning 15 of 26 as Mihail Sourgiadakis won 14 of 25 faceoffs.
Benedictine outshot Ottawa in the second half 22-19 but couldn’t push anything past Ottawa goalie Carson Davis who tallied 13 of his 18 saves in the second half.
Duncan Loud and Dustin Reis split the game in goal for the Ravens. Loud gave up seven goals with seven saves while Reis gave up seven goals with three saves.
The Ravens host St. Ambrose University at 2 p.m. on April 6 back at the BC Athletic Complex.
