The Benedictine women’s basketball program hosted its inaugural team camp for high school teams to come in and play three games at Ralph Nolan Gymnasium.

Coach Chad Folsom said the camp is a benefit to pretty much every party involved.

“It’s good to get a lot of local teams in the gym and get them on campus to see Benedictine,” Folsom said. “It’s also great for recruiting for us to be able to watch a lot of local players in action. It’s a win-win.”

Eight teams were involved in the camp’s debut including Maur Hill-Mount Academy, Atchison County Community High School, Bishop LeBlond and Jefferson County North.

The program plans to continue the camp after this season.

“It;s good for the local teams to be able work with their teams in the summer and improve their game,” Folsom said.
