St. Benedict Catholic School will get the new school year started in August.

St. Benedict Catholic School launches the 2018-2019 academic year with a new theme: Hearts on Fire!

There will be a family check-in night from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 6 in the Senecal Gymnasium. Parents will be invited to purchase lunches, pick up family copies of handbooks and calendars, claim planners for students in grades four through eight, sign up for Textcaster alerts, sign middle school students up for athletics, and greet the Pastor and Principal.

The official opening of the new school year is 8-11:45 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15th for kindergarten through eighth grade. Preschool begins Aug. 21-22.

SBCS welcomes several new middle school teachers. Jami Haren, Benedictine class of 2018, will be teaching math. Heather Hineline, also a 2018 Benedictine graduate, will be teaching English language arts and drama. Drew Loew, 2015 graduate of Benedictine, will be teaching science, Spanish, and physical education. Laura Walters has accepted the part-time position of band director for the coming year.

Families are encouraged to check the school website at www.stbenedictatchison.org/school for important online documents including uniform policy, supply lists, athletic physical form, and calendar. Watch the site for added lunch menu and reminders of important events coming up. For more information about enrollment or the beginning of the new school year, contact Diane Liebsch, principal, at dliebsch@benedictine.edu.
