St. Joseph Christian hired its new high school boys basketball coach this week.

The school announced Thursday it has named Neal Hook as head coach for the upcoming school year.

The St. Joseph native played college basketball at Missouri Western, where he received a bachelor of science degree in mathematics education. Hook coached basketball at Central for 22 years with 12 years as the head coach.

The Western graduate also has experience coaching football, baseball and tennis during his tenure at Central.

Hook is a past president of the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association and was previously recognized as the St. Joseph Sports Foundation Coach of the Year.
